Cordless Impact Drill

Looking for a cordless impact drill?  There are quite a few out there made by different brands and it’s hard to come to a decision on your own.  If you’re looking for a cordless impact drill, I highly suggest you look around the Internet as it is only here that you can find many user reviews on which drills are good, which aren’t, what the issues will be once you pick them up (battery life, handling, power etc..), there are just so many things you can’t figure out if you go shopping in the store blind.

Sure, you can ask for help from people that work there, but that pales in comparison to checking for reviews.  However, I’ve got reviews here of many a cordless impact drill, well, 2, but they are 2 of the best, so you should be able to find what you are looking for here:

1.  Bosch 23612 Impactor 12-Volt Ni-Cad Cordless Impact Driver

This sucker has plenty of torque and yet is lightweight and compact.  You get 1,050 inch-pounds of torque in this which is crazy, you’ll know if you’ve drilled it in far enough because you’ll reach a point where if you keep pressing, the tool will twist out of your hand!

This also comes with a LED work light that shines when you press the trigger, or you can use a thumbwheel to turn it on or off.  This also comes with 2 batteries, which is always an issue with a cordless impact drill, so you’ll always have one charging and ready should you need it.

Almost none of the torque in this is sent to your wrist which is great, and it drives ¼ by 3in lags into 2x4 in 2 seconds with no effort.  If there was a downside, it would be the noise, but if you’re on the job site, you should have hearing protection anyways.  This will run you $139.99 at Amazon

2.  Bare-Tool DEWALT DW056B 18-Volt Cordless Impact Driver (Tool Only, No Battery)

At $109.95, this is a cheaper option, although it doesn’t come with a battery, it is however 18 volts though.  This offers 1,170 in-lbs of torque and 0-2,400 or 0-3,000 BPM.

This is a lot smaller than a drill driver, so it can get in where they can’t and it really puts screws into wood like nothing else.  That can also be a problem though if you need it for delicate jobs, you may actually want something that won’t over-drill your screw and cause damage accidentally.

If the cordless impact drill you want is not either of these, there are still others to be found by searching online, these are however some of the highest rated ones I found through Amazon, the Bosch received 12 5/5 star ratings and the DeWalt 22 4.5/5 stars.
