Porter Cable Cordless Drill

Looking for a Porter cable cordless drill?  There are so many drills out there, Makita, Panasonic, Milwaukee, it can be hard to figure out which drill brand to go with.  Also, there are many considerations in addition to that such as the weight of the unit, it’s size and portability, it’s battery life duration, it’s durability, it’s torque, power and other miscellaneous features.

Once you put all of this together and find out which features hold more weight with you personally, you can come to a conclusion about which one is right for you.  One of the better ones out there though is the Porter cable cordless drill.  So if you’re looking for a drill, I’ll be reviewing the Porter cable cordless drill specifically and various models for you to choose from all of which are highly rated:

1.  Porter-Cable 9987 19.2-Volt Ni-Cad 1/2-Inch Cordless Hammer Drill/Driver Kit

At 19.2 volts, this one is an absolute powerhouse, not only is it one of the most powerful volt-wise, but it’s also got a handle jutting out from the side of the unit to help you manage all that power while you’re using it, this is like a mini jackhammer in your hand!

This provides you with 470 inch-pounds of torque which is all the power you’ll ever need, it also has a 2 speed gearbox for 0-500 and 0-1,500 RPM.

At 15 pounds, this is a bit on the heavy side, but it makes up for that in how speedy and effective it is.  It has a good battery life, charges quick and is just a great overall cordless drill.  This one will cost you $269.99 if you want to pick it up.

2.  Porter-Cable 9984 19.2-Volt Ni-Cad 1/2-Inch Cordless Drill/Driver Kit

Another Porter cable cordless drill to consider is this other 19.2 volt drill.  This one has 390 in./lbs of torque, has a rechargeable 19.2 volt battery, and weighs in at 15.2 pounds.  It’s similar to the previous one mentioned except it’s a bit cheaper at $245.99.  The drill has plenty of torque, a solid feel and is quite durable.  Some reviewers have complained about the battery life while others have said it was good, so you might want to get an extra battery just in case if you get this.

3.  Porter-Cable 9977 14.4-Volt Ni-Cad 1/2-Inch Cordless Hammer Drill/Driver Kit

This one is of a lower voltage than the prior ones, however it’s only $183.44.  This still has 0-450 and 0-1,400 RPM at it’s 2 speed settings so it is still powerful, you can accidentally wretch the head off of bolts if you’re not careful.  It’s a drill that feels like it was built twice as strong as it needs to be, the only issue might be handling as it’s on the heavy side, as the others are too, but it’s not unmanageable.

So if you’re looking for a Porter cable cordless drill, those are your top contenders, although look around a bit more if you need some that are lighter and more maneuverable if that is what you’re after.
